Lead Blockers & ID Windows

Stick-on-blockers are provided free of charge with purchase of screens and cassette-screen assemblies.

These easily aligned 1x4" labels will effectively block film exposure in the area required for a flash ID system.

These labels are generally provided unmounted to enable them to be positioned in the required location
by the dealer or end user.

As an extra cost option, blockers can be cut into the screens in any one of the eight positions illustrated below.

When ordering cut-in-blockers, the required position number should be indicated. Mostly lead blockers are placed in #1 position, which is same location of ID window of window cassette.

Gradient Intensifying Screen

These screens are seamless screens and available in both rare earth blue and green.

The anode side of the x-ray tube should be aligned toward the thinner anatomical part

to maximize the density gradient on the film. The standard configuration for full spine scoliosis

and AP spinal studies consists of a 14x36" screen with approximate range of 200 to 600 speed

over the 36" length of the screen. Special size and + - + configurations are available for special order.

Industrial and Autoradiography Screens

MCI Optex screens can provide virtually the same performance in industrial and autoradiography applications.

...

Autoradiography : Optex L-Plus screens are especially suitable for autoradiographic applications where reduced exposure times are required with the use of high-energy beta and gamma practice emitters. Optex High-Plus screens are also recommended for reduced autoradiography exposure times. To further reduce exposure time, it is common practice to lower the temperature of the entire package of film, screens, cassette and specimen, to approximately -60 to -80 degrees in centigrade. Industrial Radiography : Optex L-Plus screens are frequently used in industrial radiography applications that require the use of intensifying screens. Although the use of intensifying screens reduces fine line resolution, there are many applications where screens are used to significantly reduced exposure times and extend tube life. Optex l-Plus is an effective replacement for so called "salt" screens for NDT applications.

Green emitting intensifying screens for use in industrial radiography is also available.
